Ensuring the Safety, Reliability and Quality of Products
Food must be safe for everyone. In order to provide safe food to the customers, Analytical Science Department analyzes various factors that might affect quality of the products at each step including manufacturing, distribution and sales and ensures the "Safety and Reliability", which is the goal of the entire Yakult Group.
Supporting Research and Development Efforts
Through the quantification of active ingredients and measurement of disposition with advanced technologies, the Department confirms the effectiveness of products. Furthermore, it is making efforts to develop and own technologies to detect and quantify ingredients present in extremely low levels in order to improve their accuracy. Furthermore, in the microorganisms field, the Department verifies the effects of probiotic and synbiotic treatments in clinical settings by using not only culture technologies developed over many years but also our proprietary intestinal microbiota analysis system YIF-SCAN® to conduct more detailed analyses of the intestinal microbiota.
Protecting the Environment through Highly Accurate Measurement Technologies
The Analytical Science Department is an ISO/IEC17025 certified testing establishment as well as a business establishment that has acquired national and local licenses and approvals such as being licensed as a measurement certification business and maintains high reliability for its analysis values. It conducts various types of environmental measurements to monitor and assess environmental impact of the business activities of the Yakult Group including the Yakult Central Institute and plants and also conducts analyses entrusted by government and private institutions.
